Monday, May 3, 2010 at 9:44PM What kind of wedding lingerie are you investing in? Is it important t you? And I'm not talking about your wedding day foundations, ladies. I'm talking about the night of/honeymoon ensemble. Is it important to you? I'm going to assume that most brides reading this blog live here in this century and have at least had sex with the man you're about to marry. I mean, I guess y'all could be a Big V and get married, but WHY? I mean it's really none of my business, but whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?
So whatever your decision, are you going to sexy it all up with a bit o' lingerie?
You want the God's honest truth? I am so over lingerie. I'm totally jaded. I mean, sheesh - my first buying job was as an assistant buyer with Frederick's of Hollywood. I bought crotchless panties (oh, yes I did!), plus size hosiery and plus size panties (both crotchless and otherwise). You want to know what my best, all time selling item was in all of those areas? Are you ready? It was the plus size all-around zipper satin panty, red with black lace, in size XXXL. Hell yes, it was.
At the time, I was a judgemental twenty-nothing with my own big bowl of low self-esteem and my initial thought was, "Ew." Like, why would someone who wears a XXXL need a panty that unzips all the way around? You want to know why? Because it's their perogative. Just like Bobby Bown used to say. Seriously. Why would YOU wear one? Easy access? Fun? Sexy? Naughty? For whatever the reason, what was once confusion on my part is now joy. I think it's awesome that the all-around zipper panty in XXXL was my best seller.
But I digress (as usual). Because of my job, I had all sorts of lingerie. Everything you could imagine. I think I overloaded on it way too early in life. I'm just not into it anymore. I don't think I would have had one piece of lingerie for my wedding/honeymoon if friends hadn't hooked me up at my unbachelorette party (thank you, friends)!
So, in honor of the XXXL All-Around Zipper Panty (red satin with black lace), I give you the latest trend in bridal panty-wear. The corset back panty. Behold!
And just for the record, I would like to have the ass in photo #1.

I want the photo #1 underpants. Yes. I. Do. I have been struggling big time, because I want a frilly pair to wear under my gown, but I could use a little tummy slimming. Unfortunately I don't think Spanxx would really do much for Keith. Someone needs to make frilly supportive underwear. Uh oh . . . another freaking thing on my to-do list.
I don't typically buy a lot of lingerie b/c it's expensive and never stays on long enough to make it worth it. My fiance gets just as turned on when I'm wearing sweats. With that said I bought two little outfits for the honeymoon just to give him a little something extra to look forward too. As for the wedding night, is it weird that want to "do it" while still wearing my dress???
Love it! That first one reminds me of a bunny tail! Also, what is your job, miss 30something bride? I'd love to know what job description requires tons of lingerie!

Perhaps I'm the odd man out, but the idea of something that complicated to undo is less "t3h sexay" and more T. Pain. My hands would be shakier than vocals on an autotune trying to unfurl that contraption. Gimme something simple and lacy any day!

Yes, for me the "it doesn't stay on long enough" reasoning is tired but true. And blame ye olde body image issues, but I've never felt that comfortable in lingerie, either. I'd sort of rather skip it and invest the money I didn't spend on something that will spend most of its life lying on the floor or wadded up in the drawer on something fun and relaxing, like honeymoon massages. Whoop! Now that'll get me in the mood fa sho!

The first pair is definitely bunny-tastic. But rabbits know how to do it, so maybe it's appropriate. I like the Ell and Cee pair.
Ohhhh I hadn't really thought about this, but now I totally am!!! hmmmm I think I might have to buy a few new outfits....one for the wedding night, one for the first night of the honeymoon and maybe another one to surprise him with halfway through the trip!

That's just one of those things I haven't gotten around to, and would be surprised if I do before the wedding...it would be nice but I doubt I'm going to find a day to run around shopping. *sigh* I also really love the stockings in your other post!
